FASD for Pre-Adoptive Families
In this class, we will explore Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs) in depth. Our goal is to create awareness around the prevalence of this diagnosis so that children and families have the support and resources they need to thrive. According to the National Institutes of Health, experts estimate that in the United States as many as 5% of school-age children show signs of FASDs. Among adopted children, this percentage is likely higher.
A child with FASDs can display a range of behaviors both challenging and puzzling to parents.
Discover diagnoses and treatment strategies for children with FASDs.
Hear from medical professionals and adoptive families who have experienced and are currently walking the daily adventure of raising children with FASDs.
